My background
Born and raised in Palo Alto, California USA, my love for making jewelry began in High School. I went on to study jewelry making at the University of Oregon as an applied art major. My scandinavian heritage inspired me to continue my art studies in Norway where I studied textiles. After graduating from the state school of textile design, I worked at the internationally known weaving studio Handarbetets Vänner in Stockholm, Sweden.
Upon returning to Palo Alto, I began making jewelry for private clients as well as exhibiting in local galleries. This eventually lead to the founding of Ona Designs which sold my creations to prestigious stores and boutiques from San Francisco to Beverly Hills.
In 1980 my family pioneered to Trinidad & Tobago in the Caribbean, where I served the Bahá'í Faith for nine years. During that time, I pursued photography and produced public UN Day events and concerts; as well as creating radio & television programs and hosting Bahá'í travel teachers from all over the world. My photographs of the local people and scenes were shown regularly on national television.
In 1989 I returned to the USA with my family (I am the proud mother of four children, Ona, Bevin, Adam and Daniel). My permanent residence is in Sweden.
In 1993, I co-founded Diversity Dance Workshop (DDW) which toured the United States and Europe impacting large audiences with dance and music to address social healing issues inspired by Bahá'í teachings.
Today I teach the Faith and serve the Cause wherever I travel.
